WT28

Kemper WT28 · A long curved blade: one end sweeps up to a fine point, the other is cut as a broad angled chisel, with a concave curve along one edge · 203 mm (8 in) overall · Smoothly finished hardwood · Shapes and burnishes without cutting

A 203 mm (8 in) hardwood modelling tool. A long curved blade: one end sweeps up to a fine point, the other is cut as a broad angled chisel, with a concave curve along one edge. Wood does not mark clay the way steel does, which is the reason to own one.

WT28 is a 203 mm (8 in) tool from Kemper's WT Wood Modeling range. A long curved blade: one end sweeps up to a fine point, the other is cut as a broad angled chisel, with a concave curve along one edge. The handles are smoothly finished hardwood and the range runs to a couple of dozen profiles. Wood is the point: it slides on damp clay instead of cutting into it, so it shapes and burnishes where a steel tool would leave a line.
