S11S

Kemper S11S · 152 mm (6 in), teeth on one long edge, heavier gauge · Serrated Steel Scraper · Teeth cut and key the surface · For scoring joins and texturing

A serrated steel scraper. The teeth cut and key the surface rather than smoothing it flat. S11S is 152 mm (6 in), a rectangle in a heavier gauge steel with teeth along one long edge and a plain edge opposite, so the one tool scores and levels.

S11S is a serrated steel scraper. It is 152 mm (6 in), a rectangle in a heavier gauge steel with teeth along one long edge and a plain edge opposite, so the one tool scores and levels. The teeth do something different from a plain edge: they cut, and they leave a keyed surface. That is what you want when you are scoring a join, or deliberately texturing, and not what you want on a face you intend to keep smooth. Kemper also makes plain-edged scrapers in the same series if levelling rather than cutting is the job.
