The Quark S+ is a tabletop wheel, which is a different proposition from a studio floor model: at 11 kg it lifts onto a bench, into a car or onto a shelf between sessions, and it runs from a wall socket rather than a battery. The 250 W motor turns from 0 to 250 RPM and centres up to 11 kg (25 lb) of clay on a 23 cm (9 in) head. Rotation reverses for left- or right-handed throwing.
