A bendable fine-toothed steel blade, about 15 cm (6 in) long, for taking down leather-hard clay or laying in texture. The fine teeth are the point: less drag than a coarse rasp and a shallower cut.
The Hax is a thin steel blade with fine teeth along the edge, and it bends, which is what separates it from a rigid rasp. Flexed against a curve it keeps full contact instead of riding on two corners, so it shaves an even skim off a rounded wall. The fine tooth pitch cuts shallow and drags less, which matters on a surface you intend to keep rather than reshape. Held flatter it leaves a combed texture instead of removing material. About 15 cm (6 in) long.
