A long flexible stainless rib with a smooth edge, for scraping and planing a surface flat. Metal holds its line where a polymer rib flexes away from the work.
This is the long stainless rib with the plain edge. Flex it between finger and thumb and it follows a gentle curve; hold it stiff and it planes a slab or a wall genuinely flat, which is the job a polymer rib cannot quite do because it gives at the moment it meets resistance. The smooth edge scrapes and levels without scoring. The same rib is made with 12, 18 and 24 teeth per inch if what you actually want is a scored key for joining - those cut, this one finishes.
