Shape 2 was built for the wheel. Yellow is the soft grade.
It is larger than Shape 1 with a longer working edge, so it takes a whole wall in fewer passes and compresses as it goes. Off the wheel it is the shape for smoothing a slab before it stiffens. The size that makes it efficient on open forms is the same size that keeps it out of tight interiors. Yellow is the soft grade. It gives under hand pressure, so it smooths without cutting, and it will not hold a line if you lean on it. Polymer, so there is no metal edge to bruise the clay. Central hole for hanging.
