Shape 5 is the largest of the kidneys, for covering surface quickly. Red is the second-softest grade.
The long curved edge suits the outside of a bowl or the sweep of a shoulder, where a smaller rib leaves a faceted result because each pass is short. It is a finishing size rather than a detail size, and it is the wrong tool for a tight interior. Red is the second-softest grade. It follows a curve rather than correcting one, which is what you want for burnishing and slip work and wrong for truing a wall. Polymer, so there is no metal edge to bruise the clay.
