Shape 1 is the middle kidney and the one most potters use most. Red is the second-softest grade.
It is big enough to cover ground on a wall or a slab and small enough to still get into a curve, which is why it turns up in the starter kits. If you are unsure which shape to order first, order this one and add the specialists later. Red is the second-softest grade. It follows a curve rather than correcting one, which is what you want for burnishing and slip work and wrong for truing a wall. Polymer, so there is no metal edge to bruise the clay. Central hole for hanging.
