MRS is Kemper's mini ribbon set: one each of MR1 through MR6. Kemper's ribbon tools take their name from the thin flat ribbon-like steel that forms the cutting head, which gives a sharp edge with extra strength in the direction of the cut. The mini heads handle detail the six and eight inch tools cannot reach - tight undercuts, small closed forms, work on figures. Buying the set is the sensible way in, because which of the six profiles suits your hand and your work is not something you can tell from a picture; after a few pieces two or three will be worn shiny and the rest will be spares.
