MR6

Mini ribbon number 6. A small ribbon head for fine detail work.

MR6 is number 6 in Kemper's mini ribbon series. Kemper's ribbon tools take their name from the thin flat ribbon-like steel that forms the cutting head, which gives a sharp edge with extra strength in the direction of the cut. The mini head reaches into a tight undercut, the inside of a small closed form, or detail on a figure. That smallness is the whole point and also the limit: it removes very little clay per pass, so it is a finishing tool rather than a shaping one.
