Repeating waves pattern · 100 mm (10 cm) wide - patterns a slab in one pass · For soft clay, slabs and thrown walls · MKM 10 cm HandRoller range, design 2 · MKM Pottery Tools, Appleton, Wisconsin

A 100 mm (10 cm) wide textured hand roller that presses a repeating waves pattern into soft clay in a single pass.

The waves roller carries a run of parallel wave lines - a moving, water-like texture that reads as flowing bands across a surface, and one of the easier patterns to align because the waves carry the eye along the roll rather than across it. A hand roller patterns a slab in one pass, which is the argument for it over a stamp: the design repeats continuously as far as you roll rather than needing to be placed and re-placed, so a border or a whole surface goes down without visible joins. Work on soft clay and roll once with even pressure - a second pass over the same ground blurs the first. 100 mm (10 cm) wide. MKM Pottery Tools, of Appleton, Wisconsin.
