FTB is Kemper's feather texture brush: fine stainless steel bristles firmly set in a firm-grip textured handle. The bristles are chosen for a particular degree of stiffness - enough to mark the clay on a short stroke, not so much that they skate. That combination is what makes it work in small, hard-to-get-at areas where a long sweep is not available to you. Stainless, so it can be washed out and put away wet without consequence.
