Frit 3195 is a calcium borosilicate frit with a great deal of boron in it and enough alumina to stand on its own. With only kaolin added it makes a glossy low-fire glaze.

Frit 3195 is a glass, melted and ground back to powder, which is how a flux that would dissolve in the glaze water is made to stay put. It is close to a complete glaze on its own: with kaolin stirred in to hold it in suspension it makes a glossy glaze at cone 06 to 04, and a little more kaolin at the hotter end of that range. It fuses around 815°C and flows around 925°C, and the melt is a fluid one. Its thermal expansion is low, so it will not add to a crazing problem.
