DTA is Kemper's dipping tongs, 254 mm (10 in) of heavy plated steel with dipped plastic handles. The four sharp gripping points touch the piece in as few places as possible, so the glaze flows back into the contact marks rather than leaving them showing. The jaws open wide enough to take a range of sizes and shapes.
