A tapered composition cork, 32 mm (1 1/4 in) across the top and 22 mm (7/8 in) across the bottom, for bottles, flasks, and wide-necked jars.
Compressed cork, so the face reads as a fine even mosaic of granules rather than a single grain, and it takes a clean flat top. Being tapered, it wedges into a neck rather than having to match one exactly, which makes it forgiving on thrown and hand-built work where no two necks come out quite the same. Measure your neck across the inside of the rim and take the cork whose bottom diameter is a shade over it.
