A tapered bark top cork, 64 mm (2 1/2 in) across the top and 51 mm (2 in) across the bottom, for bottles, growlers, and banks.
The top face keeps its bark, so what shows once the bottle is stopped is dark and rugged over a body of pale smooth cork. It is 32 mm (1 1/4 in) thick, deep enough to sit proud of the neck and to give your fingers something to pull against. Being tapered, it wedges into a neck rather than having to match one exactly, which makes it forgiving on thrown and hand-built work where no two necks come out quite the same. Measure your neck across the inside of the rim and take the cork whose bottom diameter is a shade over it.
