Celadon is a cone 5/6 line of translucent gloss glazes made in the spirit of the ancient celadons. The colour is pale where the glaze is thin and darker where it pools in a carved line, a stamp or a throwing ring, so it shows best on textured work. Because the glazes are transparent, the clay body underneath shows through and shifts the colour. The colours can be mixed with each other for a custom palette, and the line is made for layering. Apply 3 to 4 brush coats over cone 04 bisque and fire at medium speed in oxidation to cone 5 or 6, 1186 to 1222°C. Under a Potter's Choice glaze use 3 coats over 3. The line is food safe.
