Spectrum's 1460 series is a cone 4/6 stoneware glaze with a semi-transparent high gloss surface. It darkens where it pools in carved and impressed detail and stays clear enough to show an underglaze design through it. Three brush coats on low-fired bisque give the full colour. Spectrum rates the series cone 4 to 6, 1190 to 1230°C. Lead-free. Spectrum does not rate it non-toxic in the liquid state.
