Clear Crackle Stoneware Glaze

This is one of Spectrum's 1100 series stoneware glazes. The surface is a clear crackle. The pattern forms as the piece cools and takes coloured dye. Brush on three coats for full colour and fire to cone 5, which is where it will match the jar. It will fire anywhere from cone 4 to cone 6, 1190 to 1230°C, but expect the result to shift a little at either end. It is not dinnerware safe, because the crazing can hold bacteria, so keep it off surfaces that touch food or drink. Lead-free and AP non-toxic. Conforms to ASTM D-4236.
