Greenbarn Potter’s Supply has been outfitting BC potters since 1957, and today it carries the largest selection of pottery supplies in Western Canada
Our 7,500-square-foot store in Surrey stocks clay, raw materials, glazes, underglazes, tools and equipment for everyone from first-time students to working professionals. Our staff have a combined 150 years at Greenbarn, plus studio experience of their own, and they’re glad to share it — whether you need help choosing a clay body, sorting out a glaze problem or figuring out shipping.
- We have on-site parking, a loading dock and forklift loading for larger orders
- Greenbarn supplies schools from elementary to university, film and special-effects studios, and potters at every level
Our history
- Greenbarn started in 1957 in a barn on founder Stan Clarke’s property and moved to its current Surrey location in 1984.
- Stan was one of BC’s first pottery teachers and suppliers, training the instructors who went on to teach the generations of potters that followed.
- He kept working at Greenbarn, repairing equipment and offering advice, until he retired at 92.
- Several of our staff learned the trade alongside Stan, and we pass what he taught us on to every new artist who comes through the door.
- We still have catalogues from 1978 with Stan’s handwriting and Plainsman Clays pricing in them.
